> Tell me about burning sticks.
cp,

I need to explain this on a family channel?

If you have enough burning sticks inserted into the darker recesses of
'you-know-what' then it means you are too busy to say, "Hello." Let
alone any finer expressions of civilized life. Beside all that your
responsibilities and obligations are not only painful in a very
fundamental manner but they are accelerating behind you with a ferocity
of prospects in the short-term of even more pain if you don't get them
taken care of and put out real soon. Possibly it is a NYr thing, a way
of life waiting on alternative sources of bio-fuel? It is more hard-core
than corn cobs. As to incense, odoriferous, there usually is not enough
time to smell flowers, roses, tulips, cedar or frankincense. Sometimes
on occasion there is a mixed metaphor used with sticks of dynamite,
though that totters toward hyperbole.

It is similar to the phrase, "Buried neck deep in alligators." It
incorporates the impression of multiple-pikes with the expression, "I
have too many fires to put out!"
