Heat them up til just "soft" in a steamer or other device of your choice, then saute them briefly in unsalted butter - with some chopped pecans if she likes them, then at the end throw in some maple syrup to coat them.
 
This has worked for my now 13 year old, who has been a hard core anti-green stuff pastafarian from birth.
