Coatings on the glass, gas filled insulated space, and multilayer insulated
window panes can get you a lot of insulation value. I'm pretty sure these
bldgs meet energy codes.

Hey, I thought Big Brother's energy code required a certain energy
efficiency, winter and summer.  I must be wrong - or do the recent spate of
"glass buildings"  (e.g. Richard Meier in the West Village) somehow meet
such codes?
