One of my all time best interpretive trail sign designs was a little formal
looking sign near ground level beside a desert path at BC's Grist Mill
Historic Site.   Based on visitor surveys that illustrated people's
excitement about seeing cactuses here, and other people's extreme
disappointment at not see the little cactuses here, united with the
complaints of people who stepped off the well defined path and found
themselves thoroughly stuck through with spines from the little cactuses
here, the sign said only, "Watch For Cactus".    It proved to be the most
effective sign at the historic site in every way.

Snow cacti?

Doesn't anybody else think it's a little fishy that our Canadian Confrere has a TELUS.NET email address?  As opposed to TELCAN.  I bet he's really in Houston with Jim.
