The Wednesday evening 5 pm CBC Radio National News did carry
an international news story from NYC, but it was about the World Record
just set that day for the tallest building ever made with
chocolate (6.4 meters).
Now Ralph, that is what Canadian cops talk about at Tim
Horton's donut shop. Thank God for our normal cousins up
Nawth.
I hope you city folk will keep us posted about the
RFP's for that building restoration job when it becomes
due. The work will take about 10 minutes. Could
be a nice team project. 2 masons and 2 window
guys.

I was never very comfortable with the notion of flying with private
pilots. Back in 1974 when I was in Festung Europa, the Penpal and her fraternal
unit and I were in Amsterdam when some local offered to take us for as
flight over the city. I said I was a little concerned about the chances of
coming down safely, and he pointed out that HE wanted to come home safely,
too. I thought that was a good point.
Some years later, a kid I went from first grade through HS
with was giving flying lessons to a Famous Movie Director's Son, when there
was a wind shear or something and they both flew into an apt house (probably 2-3
stories). I'll stick with the commercial pilots in big
planes.
