As the computer first starts up, you need to get into the BIOS and change the boot order of the drives to have the CDROM be first. It will probably be somewhere in the "advanced" settings. Computers have different ways of accessing the BIOS (setup) with the most prevalent being to press the delete key (might take several presses to get it at the right time) as the computer starts up. Check your manual for the correct method if the delete key does not work. After you are done you will likely want to change the boot order to floppy/hard drive/CDROM. There are differing opinions on the preferred boot order, but this works for me. Tom Mayer Steve Gale wrote: > I have a Gateway e4600 with Windows ME UGH! I downloaded Linspire 5.0 from my other computer and burned a trial copy to load into my Gateway. The problem is the Gateway doesn't boot from a CD it boots from the A drive. Can I change it to boot from the CD ROM? If so how? > Thank you for your help > > The NOSPIN Group Promotions is now offering > our special coffee mugs and mouse pads > with the PCBUILD logo... at a great price!!! > http://freepctech.com/goodies/promotions.shtml > > > The NOSPIN Group has added a new feature on our website, web based bulletinboard for questions and answers: Visit our sister website at http://nospin.com
