  Note that this is adequate advice to keep interlopers out of a small home 
network.  So many of these are unprotected that intruders will just go to a 
neighbor's network instead.

  Although cracking WEP is not as hard as one might like, it's not something 
that can happen by accident either.  So at this point, enabling WEP is a 
fairly effective "no trespassing" sign.
