IF I remember right a company called COmspec makes a tone
encoder board which a friend can probably help you install.
I actually like  that radio.  IF a lot of repeaters in your
neck of the woods use the same pl tone it's worth your while
to get one of those comspec boards.  NO memories, no bells &
whistles but a decent basic radio.  I had one in my van for
a long time until it died.
