I have two Yamaha receivers, only thing
wrong with them, they are wood and brushed aluminum, so my wife doesn't want
them anywhere that people can see them, (black's the rage), ones in the closet,
there other I resurrected for feeding to my patio speakers, got to watch it,
turn them up to loud, pisses off the neighbors. Passed up a 1250 Yamaha
receiver (like I needed a third receiver) a couple of years ago, must
have weighed 50-60 pounds, it was wrapped with heat sinks, can't beat a good
power amp. Ask anyone using an old Marshall or Fender.

So, we broke our necks finding the best
sound systems then, remember? We made people who collect
Morgans look like amateurs. But now young people just slap
on an ipod, or listen to music over their (gulp!) computer
speakers!!! What happened? Has musical quality
been dumbed down, or were we wasting our time? Christopher
