<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Since posting about my experience of getting sick from Lawry's Seasoned Salt, I have received several reponses from people who say Lawry's is GF. I have no reason to doubt this. Let me relate the details of my experience w/ this product as far as I can remember. I believe Lawry's Seasoned Salt was GF when I first started using it nearly 5 years ago. I used it w/o difficulty for nearly a year after going GFr. Then I bought a new bottle that contained product of a distinctively different color (pale pink rather than the deeper red it had been before). This is THE bottle of Lawry's Seasoned Salt that made me sick for the next five months. When I stopped using it, I got well. (Nothing else changed in my diet.) A friend of mine checked it out at that time (about 3 years ago) & said that Lawry's was being removed from some GF lists because of variable suppliers for ingredients. But hearing that Lawry's in on several GF lists NOW & that others are using it w/o problems causes me to believe that it may NOW be GF (again!). Hopefully the Lawry's people are more aware of the gluten issue, are being more careful about their ingredients. Who knows????? I personally don't trust multiple ingredient products anymore. They could change suppliers for ingredients such as starches or natural flavors at any time w/o having to reflect that change on their labeling. In spite of the newer labeling legislation, gluten can slip into our food supply. So what I often do now for seasoning meat is to imitate Lawry's. It's main ingredients are turmeric, paprika, garlic & onion powder in a salted starch base. I season my foods liberally with the basic pure spices & get the same flavor -- no, actually a better flavor -- than Lawry's. This way I can be 99.99% sure it's GF!!!!
