That's a little bit of a stretch, but an understandable take on things.
   As for not needing a phone jack being a benefit of cable - it's not
for me.  I don't currently have a cable outlet in my house so the phone
jack works better.  The downside to Cable is the possibility of reduced
security (since you're on the same "network" as neighborhood users),
slowdowns during peak times and difficulty with tech support (although
the last can occur with ANY ISP).
(As a side note, I'd prefer cable but for my situation, DSL works better.)
