Yes, XP should be able to read the old drive since it supports FAT32.  Remember to make sure the jumpers
on the drives are set correctly.

I have a similar  situation with the old drive formatted for windows Me and
the new drive being  xp. Since the Me drive is probably Fat32 and the new is
not, can the files  still be readable in xp?
