Baba, Be rest assured of our solidarity and moral support in these trying moments. We urge all Gambians and friends of The Gambia in their multitudes to ensure that The Independent goes to press and continues to print. Yaya Jammeh and his surrogates have almost completed their agenda of spreading their ugly tentacles in the public sector; and they now seem to have their energies directed towards emasculating all alternative voices in the private sector, particularly the private media. They may have short term successes here and there, but in the long term, their plans are bound for failure. Any regime that has lies and injustices as the basis for its survival, will not live long. We have no doubts that your problems are as a result of the A(F)PRC's campaign of terror to generate fear. We urge you to take heart while the struggle continues!
