Sorry for the delayed response. I ran the two suggested experiments with no success from either. I disabled the firewall but was still unable to view the shared docs on the main computer. Then, I took the Ethernet cable from the wireless station and plugged it into the laptop, where it originally was when the network was first set up. Still no improvement; can't see the shared files on the main computer. The main computer can see the stuff on the laptop, however. It is the "one way" nature of this problem that I find frustrating.
