Fresh Kills is the Landfill on Staten Island

I think “Kills” is Dutch for narrowing of a river

Ther's a Fishkill on the east side of the Hudson between Beacon and Poughkeepsie, and I think that would be Westchester County, but I wasn't aware of a Fishkill in Staten Island.  Could there be two?

Around here dumplings are "boiled bread" and they are nothing like bagels.  There's also a glaze on bagels, and the dough must be coarser than dumplings, because they're much chewier.  When they're stale, they're inedible.
Do you mean to tell me some people use rendered chicken fat like butter???
I agree, YUCK!  You ain't kiddin, honeychile.

Thanks for the explanation of The Bronx.  Now how about the other four?
parts of NYC?  I can't think what they are called Minhattin, Booklyn, Queens, Staten Island.  Minhattin is the county of Minhattin.  Queens is the County of Queens.  Think you've got it now?  Brooklyn is Kings County, and Staten Island is the county of Richmond
I've always thought of SI as the forgotten borough, like it came straggling along because it didn't want to be left behind with NJ, so the other boroughs said, "OK, if you REALLY have to come along, but walk 5 feet behind us, wouldya?  We don't want anybody knowing you're with us."  Don't know why I think that, just the impression I get, maybe cuz Fishkill is there (a landfill - BTW, "kill" is some Dutch word of which I don't recall the derivation, it's not supposed to be a description of what the area does to the waterlife).  May be the accent of the big haired women who would transfer from the ferry to the #4 or #6 train.  The Verazzano Narrows Bridge is pretty nice, though.  Or Romanov, if you believe Sharpshooter. five but I'm not sure.  Brain fart, at my age I'm entitled. You're not alone, either.
