Hi Rob,

The short answer is it's a bug in Internet Explorer that could, under
certain circumstances, allow untrusted software to run, in other words, a
vulnerability. The good news is that it's been fixed. If you're fully
up-to-date on Internet Explorer patches, you can safely ignore SpyBot's
report of a DSO Exploit. It reported it because of a flaw that has
supposedly been fixed. If you don't have the latest versions of SpyBot (1.3)
and Ad-aware (1.03) you can get them here:

SpyBot Search & Destroy
http://spybot.safer-networking.de/en/index.html

Ad-aware SE Personal Edition 1.03
http://snipurl.com/8e4c

In addition to those two tools for finding and removing the bad guys, I
recommend you use SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster to protect you from
getting most of them.

SpywareGuard
http://wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html

SpywareBlaster
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Update SpyBot and Ad-aware immediately before running them and, as always,
update everything on a regular basis. Good luck.

I use AdAware and Spybot, and DSO EXPLOIT keeps coming up. What is it, and
how can I remove it?
