Is it only your computer connected directly to the cable modem? Is it connected to a switchbox on a network with other computers? If the latter, what kind of switchbox? I have a Linksys 4-port router/switchbox which randomly and fairly frequently now drops the connection. I have to pull the power plug to the router/switchbox (BEFSR41) for a minute, then plug it back in. That usually fixes the disconnect. If you are connected directly to the cable modem and the modem shows a connection to the Internet with a lighted LED, then the problem is in your modem or computer. >I frequently lose my broadband connection, my server says its my computer, and >dell says its a problem with my server. I connect with a cable modem. I will be >viewing pages and it will say page cannot be displayed, and my e-mail will also not work. I must go into local area connection status and click on repair to >get connected again. this works for awhile then I lose my connection again. >all cables are secure, and my server can ping my computer. my os is windows xp home edition. >> __________________________________________________________________ Switch to Netscape Internet Service.
