Hello Russ, Does this occur when you go from Inbox to any other folder? By "shut down", do you mean Outlook Express closes or does it stop responding and the cursor changes to an hourglass? This is just a hunch, but try this: Assuming you're in OE now, without attempting to go to the Sent Items folder, close OE as you normally would. Next, right click the AVG icon in the System Tray (by the clock) and in the menu that pops up, left click "ShutDown AVG Control Center". Click "Yes" in the next window. Now open OE and click on the Sent Items folder. You probably have a large number of sent messages. If the folder opens, delete, move to another folder or save the majority, if not all, of the messages in the folder. Then restart the AVG Control Center from the Start Menu / Programs. When you attempt to open a folder, if the contents has changed since the last time you opened it, you may notice a slight delay as AVG rechecks the contents. With a large folder, and I don't know the cause, AVG may stop responding and in turn, OE stops responding. With the frequency that updates are released now it's a good idea to update AVG daily. The latest database is #447 dated today. While trying to switch from the "Inbox" folder to the "Sent Items" folder, Outlet Express shuts down. Any ideas what causes this to happen? Please advise.
