I don';t understand the big deal; most people here have two (count em )
...........two freezers on their "poach" (dats the verandah in Vt.)
and were deemed one of the poorest states by egg heads in D.C)
these freezers are full of game and fish. Most people take off the period of
the week before Christmas to the week after new Years to hunt.
My young apprentice has taken 5 large deer not only filling his freezer but
that of his Moms and her 4 children ....he borrowed my WW1 (Swedish Mauser)
rifle over the back door and went to work . That meat will last the whole year,
we take coon in the summer months ; I ll pass on it ....but I will take beaver
( don't go there Ralph) the steak by the back is very good . Lets see back
in depression times people took possum and I can get a recipe or two if
interested. My favorite here is Alligator; Cajun style hot on the barbie
...MMMMM......and don't forget the mountain oysters; Best Py
