I doubt that Pyrate has been there; I have. Sugar Grove is SW of Franklin. Maybe you can stay in Thompson's in Franklin and eat in the restaurant. When you read the menu, remember that Side Orders and Vegetables are local synonyms.
I don't think that there was any prior use of most of the land in NY City before it was made a wasteland.
