Who the blazes are the Saltenstals? I've known Peter Saltensatal & his
family since I was in grade school and I have no idea why people fuss
over them.

The Saltonstalls were a big cheese Massachusetts political family; there was a Gov or Sen Saltonstall as recently as the 60's, I think. I suppose they must've made money somehow before that, but I don't know how, not being a Massachusettser.
I think the Republican Arizona Governor who just went to (or maybe just got out of) jail was related to them somehow, or maybe it was some other big Eastern political family. On second thought, I'm not so sure he went to jail, but he definitely got thrown out of office for some sort of scummy banking/real estate development and/or payoff-related hijinks.
