------- Forwarded message follows ------- Version française ci-dessous Connectivity Africa seeks Senior Program Specialist based in Cairo Connectivity Africa (www.connectivityafrica.ca) is a new initiative funded by the government of Canada and jointly managed by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). Working closely with other African-focused Information and Communication Technology (ICT) initiatives, Connectivity Africa will build on Canada's experience in connectivity projects in Africa and adapt Canadian expertise and models to the needs of African countries, particularly in education, health and economic development. Working within the IDRC Regional Office in Cairo, Egypt, the Senior Program Specialist will provide intellectual leadership and manage a portfolio of projects with a large degree of responsibility. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field with 5 to 8 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other requirements include related experience in ICT in both the private and public sectors, experience in managing information technology projects in Africa, work experience in Africa, and fluency in Arabic as well as knowledge of English and French.
