Hi, The answer to the first question is, yes, it should work okay if stationary. You can used for temporary support, either some tape or a third item as a prop, to help keep it in place. The answer to the second question is NO, you should not have to change either if they work okay. You should be able to fix them both. If when you test the monitor and card, and it does work ok, it should be an easy enough task to unscrew the hex connectors from the video card and replace them with some from a defective card, so a monitor cable can be attached securely. Those are pretty much the same from card to card. Visit a local repair shop if necessary and they would probably just give you a couple. The monitor cable screws may be a little more difficult to replace, not knowing the exact configuration of the cable, but they to should be able to be changed also. Thanks and have a Great Day! Joe Lore --------------------------- I have a problem. A computer I checked out last night has the tightening screws broken off of the monitor cord in the video adapter on the back of the computer. Will it work okay as long as it is stationary? Do you have to replace the monitor and install a new video adapter card? I didn't get the chance to actually hook it up and turn it on, so I don't know at this point if that is all that is wrong with it.
