Hi, just a couple of suggestions which may or may not work. First, I would check the settings in the Bios, to make sure they haven't been altered. (Seems logical if the computer hasn't been opened by the kid) Failing that, I would open it up, and try removing every device, including ram, and go from there. If it starts up ok with everything removed, I would replace everything bit by bit (restarting in between), just as an attempt to troubleshoot. This may or may not help, but it's a start. I do sympathise with you, as kids have this terrible habit of altering settings and not knowing how they've done it. Let us know how you get on.
