<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> CELIAC DINING DATE Here is a wonderful opportunity for dining out and socializing. A chance to eat out without the questionable looks when you say, "I have Celiac and I need a gluten free meal." On Saturday the 12th of April, at 11:00 a.m. We have arranged for our group to be served at Red Robin in the Super Target parking lot on Powers Blvd. An exhaustive amount of time has been spent coordinating with the management team. We have scrutinized the menu and are verifying all GF products available. We have discussed their preparation and serving style to reduce or eliminate any potential cross contamination. As with any dining experience in a public venue there is no way to fully guarantee that gluten exposure may not occur. Understand, we have made all possible attempts to ensure safe dining. This is an eat at your own risk event. The general manager has assured us that everything possible will be taken to provide the most pleasurable dining experience. Due to seating arrangements YOU MUST RSVP the last name and number of your party attending to Laura at 266-0228 by Thursday, April 10, 2003. Can't wait to see you there. ============================================================ Future Meetings: Date: Saturday, May 10 Time: 1:00 p.m. Guest Speaker: Captain John Himberger, FNP Topic: Medical Considerations of Celiac Disease Even if you attend Celiac support group meetings irregularly, you won't want to miss this one! Air Force Capt. John Himberger, military nurse-practitioner, along with his wife Laura (also a nurse and our new chairman) will present a power-point program on Celiac disease. Newly diagnosed Celiacs in particular are strongly encouraged to attend this Celiac "primer". And because Capt. Himberger includes updates on the latest national and international research, even seasoned gluten-free "veterans" are sure to glean important new knowledge. Capt. Himberger will present an overview of Celiac disease, including the mechanics of the disease, the gluten-free diet itself, associated risks of further medical problems, and why adherence to a gluten-free diet is of critical importance. There will be a question and answer period after the presentation. So mark your calendars now for Saturday, May 10th, 1 PM in Dining Room 3 of the Memorial Hospital cafeteria. ============================================================ Date: Saturday, June 14 Time: 1:00 p.m. Topic: Vacation & Travel Ideas with Open Discussion Location: Memorial Hospital Cafeteria Dining Room # 3 1400 East Boulder Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Refreshments: Variety available as brought by volunteers. ===================================================== *Support summarization of posts, reply to the SENDER not the CELIAC List*
