The function of the Linux FDISK is a replacement for the MS version, but it
runs only under Linux, not DOS. However, since FDISK is best run from a boot
floppy, having the single floppy Linux takes care of that need. The catch to
it may be that you do have to learn at least a little bit of UNIX to work
with it! As Michele noted, however, DELPART.EXE may be sufficient for some
cases and it does run under DOS.
