Hi, George, During the installation, if you didn't provide a username, then you'll want to login with the username of "root", then with the password that you selected. I'd really suggest that right after your login that you create a new account for yourself so that you don't have to login as root. The problem with the root account is that it basically has unlimited power on the system (that's why root is also called "superuser"), so it's easy to accidentally mess things up. The third install disc just has some other programs on it that are installed if you picked one of the other installation options. If the installation program didn't ask for it, then don't worry...there's nothing that you need to do about it. Drew Dunn The NOSPIN Group -----Original Message----- I just recently got the Linux Red Hat 7.3 package thru freepctech, and am now trying to install it on a new system. It plowed thru the first two disks fine. I answered essentially the defaults all the way, not wanting to be creative when I didn't know what I was doing. Then when it reboots after the install, it comes to a screen saying "Welcome to localhost.localdomain", Login: Say what? I provided a password the two opportunities I had during the install, but I don't remember any login name. CR does work, so it's expecting something. Help? Also, the package has a third install disk that I never got to yet. Is that a luxury at this stage of the installation?
