The 10,000 rounds was an arbritary figure set by some congressman or beaucrat. Most people may buy a box of 50 or 100 (more only if they target shoot a lot and can get a bargain). One good shot can kill a elephant. The sniper takes only one shot because if you take a 2nd, it gives the alerted witnesses the direction to look. -----Original Message----- From: Trisha Cummings [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 12:00 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: another shooting Hi Bobby, I am not trying to be insulting - I am trying to figure out what is reasonable? How much ammo does one normally keep on hand? If 8,000 rounds is normal than 10,000 would be good figure for licenses. However as I own no guns buy no ammo, don't hunt or even target practice - I have no basis for comparsions - I am just asking for you guys to educate me here. I know my Dad has one - his weapon from when he was an active duty officer. I have seen it - I was told to never touch - so I never have. My ex-husband has guns - again I was given explicit instructions to never touch them. Being an idiot - I do as I am told. I was taught to shoot by my father. I have done tin cans on stumps as fun - as a vistor to my ex-brother-law. I personally have no knowledge on the gun laws or amounts or ammo a weapon takes. Frankly - I know if someone wants something badly enough they can get - legally or not. The pawn shop a couple of blocks from my house has guns - pistols and rifles. I believe its not the weapon that kills its the human behind it. People should be illegal!! LOL Trisha > One reason is that there are many more deaths by cars than by guns.
