I recently built my first computer using An AMD XP 1800+ on an Asus A7M266Motherboard using an AMD 760 chipset and an Award bios.

When the bios came up on the initial boot it showed the processor speed at 1150MgHz instead of 1533MgHz(the actual speed of the 1800+). Do I need to advance the multiplier to get up to the listed clock rate or is this figure normal? I can't believe that there would be such a large discrepancy. The processor is a retail version bought on-line from a reputable dealer not OEM. The OS is Windows XP Pro.

TIA
