Okay so I have finally got myself both a dehydrator and some beef suet and
i'm going to make pemmican. Can anyone suggest the best way for rendering
the suet- oven or stove top? And if it is the oven what are the
instructions for doing it that way (I had to give Ray's book back to the
library and didn't get it written down!).

Is it true that it smells really bad during the rendering?

Also I have a lot of the suet so once rendered will it keep at room
temperature for a while (i presume so since it will keep in the pemmican).
Can i also use the rendered suet for cooking?

Thanks so much. my husband and I are anxious to try pemmican!!!

All the best,

Debbie
