ZoomText is a good program, probably best in its class, but Reader doesn't need "smoothing" because of the nature of .pdf files, there is no pixelation. Another free product with excellent magnification capabilities is the Opera Internet Browser. It also magnifies (web pages) without pixelation. -- Ramon Castillo, OTR, ATP Occupational Therapist Assistive Technology Practitioner ATEC/Goodwill Industries of Orange County 200 North Fairview Santa Ana, CA 92703 714-547-6301 ext.389 Fax 714-541-2387 http://www.ocgoodwill.org/atec --If at first you don't succeed, Reformat!!! -----Original Message----- From: Glenn Bond [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Friday, April 19, 2002 10:47 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Magnification software and PDF files I've seen Zoomtext work well with pdf files. Sometimes it might gain an advantage over plain acrobat reader because it expands and colors the cursor along with the contrast features. In addition, there may be files where its magnification is superior to the Acrobat Reader functions (for example font smoothing). Reader is FREE, however. . .
