Thanks for the reply, I had to move the dicussion over to PC BUILD as the software problem was solved. I replaced the battery,checked the BIOS for floppy disk settings, that was OK, I apologize I don't anything about HD paramaters. Also,if this is of any importance,I get 2 beeps on boot up from a Phoenix BIOS which accrding to Phoenix is a parity error. Checked all connections etc,no obvious problems. Memory Parity/ Non Parity problems were not present before this problem and I couldn't find a spot in BIOS to select either parity or non parity memory, maybe I don't know where to look axactly. If everyone hasn't given up I'll take more advice. Thanks to all who have contributed so far. Hi, With the error messages you are getting, it looks like your BIOS settings have been changed/lost somehow (battery going dead?). Set the floppy disk for 3.5"/1.44MB (or whatever type you have installed), and you may have to reset the hard drive parameters as well.
