Ian, Glad I could help OK as for the side effect you mentioned - The key in the registry you have changed is actually the key which determines the 'My Documents' folder, I do hope this isn't a problem. As for the default saving directory in word: Change (or create if the key isn't there) the following key - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\doc-path Andrew p.s. - After re-reading your post I've realised I've miss read it! Oh well, maybe the above key will come in handy for you!! 04/03/02 20:43:57, Ian <[log in to unmask]> wrote: >Andrew, that was an excellent suggestion, it worked perfectly. However, there's an odd side effect which I thought I'd mention - I changed the registry setting to a folder I created in C called 'Upload'. Now when I do 'Insert\File attachment' it heads unerringly for the Upload folder - but the 'Look In' box tells me I'm in 'My Documents'! Don't you love this Windows thing? >Also, re the possible alteration of the Word default saving location, there was no change to that, but this is configureable in Word's settings anyway. >Ian Porter >Computer Guys >Arrowtown >New Zealand >[log in to unmask] PCSOFT maintains many useful files for download visit our download web page at: http://freepctech.com/downloads.shtml
