STARTUP, that are no longer used?>>

What msconfig/startup does is to read and display the various places on
your computer from where the instructions may be found to run various
programs at startup.

To remove these lines from msconfig, you must therefore go to each of those
places. One shortcoming of msconfig is that (unlike the utility StartEd)
it does not display these locations. So you must look in each possible
place for each program you want to remove.

Places to look for programs that load at startup are Windows/Start
Menu/Programs/Startup folder, Win.ini,(check any load and run lines) ,
Autoexec.bat (in the root directory, usually C), and the registry.

The keys to look for in the registry are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Backup the registry before making any changes.
