Carol is right in that it could often fall on deaf ears.  However, how about this: Every time a computer/library/information science article uses the wrong term, a canned EASI statement could be sent as a letter to the editor.  That way, it might be printed in the journal, especially if the editor is looking for space to fill.  I wouldn't mind sending it in, but don't have the time to create a canned statement.  If anyone can write one, that'd be great.
