<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> The Celiac Diners are an informal group, with the Chicago chapter of CSA/USA, that meets several times a year for gluten free meals at area restaurants. We discuss menus with the restaurant in advance, and work with the chef/managers for a gluten free dining experience. We have selected Cyrano's, a bustling, friendly French bistro in Chicago's River North area. Chef/owner Didier Durand was born in Bergerac in southwest France, hence the reference to the tuber-nosed novelist of the same town. Durand has an impeccable resume: After graduating from the Lycee Hotelier cooking school in Bergerac, he spent two years at France's Michel Guerard restaurant, then came to the States in 1986. He was a principal in the kitchens of Carlos', Gordon, Le Perroquet and Yvette Wintergarden before opening Cyrano's in 1996. We have reservations for 6:00 pm on Saturday, February 2, at 546 N. Wells St. in Chicago. Valet parking is available. We will have a 'fixed' menu, including: Cured olives and vegetable medley Mesclun salad Coq au vin or Grilled norwegian salmon Risotto Chocolate mousse and/or creme brulee Price is $32.50 per person, including gratuity, excluding wine. Persons without celiac can either have the same menu, or order off the regular menu. Children are definitely welcome! If you would like to attend or would like more information, please call Joel or Cessy Roth, 773-955-1597, or [log in to unmask] no later than one week before the dinner.
