Goalscorer Sebwe challenges Algeria's Yazid Mansouri
Liberia 2-2 Algeria

An equalising goal by Nasseredine Kraouche deep into injury time has kept Algeria's hopes alive at the Nations Cup in Mali.

Kraouche's shot in the 93rd minute left George Weah's Liberian team shattered and with much work to do for a tough last group match against Nigeria.

Weah himself had set up both his side's goals and was completely deflated after the match.

"It's a really sad way to lose a game especially just 30 seconds before the end," Weah said.

Just reward

The late equaliser was just reward for Algeria's relentless pressure - they also hit the woodwork in each half - against a Liberia team that showed flashes of brilliance but failed to take control by keeping possession.

Liberia went ahead after just seven minutes through Prince Daye in what was to be the highest scoring of the 13 games played so far.

Liberia then went off the boil allowing Algeria a flurry of opportunities in the latter part of the half.

It was first half substitute Nassim Akrour who finally got the reward for Algeria, beating Liberian keeper Louis Crayton to a high ball and slotting his shot home in first half injury time.

Sebwe's strike

The second half looked to be going Algeria's way too as they found space behind Liberia's full-backs time and time again.

But in the 72nd minute, the game turned once more as Liberia's Kelvin Sebwe curled a delightful shot into the net from the edge of the box.

Algeria never gave up though and with five minutes remaining substitute Abdelhafidh Tasfaout thumped the post with a volley.

Just as Liberia's defence should have tightened up it went AWOL.

Two minutes into time added on the price was paid as Kraouche crashed home his glorious effort.

Kraouche, who plays in Belgium for Ghent, will however miss the next match against Mali after picking up his second yellow card.
