Western Digital has a DOS based program in its Diagnostics suite (available free on the WD web site) that does that for its hard drives, but I don't know if it works for floppies or non-WD drives. It's a small free download, try it. > >Can anyone recommend a small DOS-based utility that will write zeros to all sectors on a FLOPPY diskette? > >Alternatively, how about a DEBUG script that would overwrite the Boot sector and FAT of a floppy? > >I need a minimum-sized (and quick) utility that can run in a batch file to convert formatted 3.5" floppies to an UNFORMATTED state. I need to "blank out" diskettes for testing a student's ability to format a floppy. __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas.
