Hi Listers, Just finished putting together my third system and have run into something that never happened to me before. My system is as follows: Pentium III Intel Celeron 1000MB 512 MB SDRAM ASUS CUV4X-E Motherboard Apollo Pro 133A Chipset NVIDIA TNT video card - 32 MB RAM sound card (don't remember the brand) US Robotics 56K modem I've loaded Windows 98 SE several times, but am unable to load many other programs. So, I start again with reformatting and installing. Each time I have gotten the BSOD saying an exception OE has occurred at 0028:BFF95479 in VXD---. This was called from 0028:C)29A71B in VXD.VWIN32(05)+00003243. It may be possible to continue normally. Well, it wasn't. Now I can only get a few seconds into the installation and I get a General Protection fault that says SUWIN caused a General Protection Fault in module USER.EXE at 0001.2B06. Also, I notice when I've been fairly successful at installing WIN 98 several VXD files don't load at that's when I'll either get caught in a loop that keeps rebooting the computer or just the BSOD. Is there something in BIOS or CMOS that I need to do? I've been able to do less and less each time I try so now I can't get anywhere. I've read about resetting the CMOS, so if that's my problem I'll need step by step instructions. I know some things, but there's even more I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.
