Hello,

I've been having a heck of a time with an NT4 based notebook (Gateway Solo) and getting the Kingston PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter (Model # KNE-CB4TX) working.

Here is what happens: After downloading (directly from Kingston's website) & installing the NT4 driver for the adapter, I reboot the machine. Upon reboot I can ping 127.0.0.1 & the adapter address. However, I can't ping anything on the "outside" not even the gateway.

Event Viewer consistantly displays an event about the PC Card, it reads:

"There is no configuration information for the PCCARD "\" "

I believe this is the problem but really don't know what to do about it. So far, I've reinstalled NT4 over the current installation several times, uninstalled/reinstalled the TCP/IP stack, tried to hack the registry to add the configuration data, all with no luck.

I've tried doing these procedures with both service pack 1 & service pack 6a installed. The main NT directory resides on a FAT partition.

Anyone run into this before? Ideas?

Thanks,

Brian P. Burggraff
