How long does on average it take for use of a probiotic supplement to have an effect, assuming that a poor diet of several years' duration has been replaced by one more conducive to a healthy gut?

What sort of inner timeframe does the body have for re-establishing balance?

Reading the label of my supplement (which I started taking four days ago), I see that each capsule contains **billions** of organisms.  Heck, based on that, I should be brimming with intestinal goodness by now.
