For a newbie you have done well, No damage is caused by reducing the speed as long as you give the cpu the correct voltage. I need confirmation however the voltage should be higher the slower the speed. May seem strange, but true. Regards, D >A friend asked me to fix her Cyrix computer which continued to overheat >even with 2 fans in the case, though it ran better if she left the cover >off. I'm a newbie myself but said I'd try. >So I reduced the speed from pr166+ to pr90+ and also lowered >the voltage from 3.3 to 2.8 coz I couldn't think of what else to do. >It now runs beautifully even with the case closed but I keep worrying >that by doing this I may damage the processor or worse. I need reassurance >from you experienced guys out there or alternatively can someone suggest >another solution? Thanks. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
