1.  So can one ID timber in any meaningful way, absent the wane edge?  Isn't
it  rather unusual (or at least atypical) to have the wane edge, and isn't
dendrochronlogy a tool one is unlikely to be able to use?

2.  Given that you're responsible for your entire state, we'll (in our
capacity as     Humor Czar, if not representative of every Pinhead in the
universe) forgive you for   not being able to bring all your constituents
into the fold, as Dan ought to be able  to do.  If he were any good, that is.
