Check out a brief 4-5 page chapter in Martin Weaver's book Conserving Buildings (Wiley, ISBN 0-471-50944-2).  He also has a "Further Reading" entry listing Catherine L. Frangiamore; Grenda Greysmith; Catherine Lynn; Richard C. Nylander and others.  He cites Journal of the American Institute for Conservation Vol. 20 Nos. One and Two, Fall 1980 and Spring 1981.  "Number 2 is a special issue devoted to wallpaper conservation."
