I was never successful at getting the McAfee scanpm.exe program to work on
my older motherboard. It was definitely motherboard/Bios related since my
son had the exact same problem with his machine. The line that launches it
is in the autoexec.bat file. It is supposed to run the first thing on a
reboot. I think I had to change it to scan.exe instead of
scanPM.exe. Since you have Inoculate It, you should un-install the McAfee
program, or at least remove the autoexec.bat line that launches scanpm.exe.

If you need help in un-installing the program or editing the autoexec.bat
file, please write back.

About Inoculate It message: In Inoculate It you can go under tools and Auto
Update to download the latest Virus files automatically as long as you have
registered the free version. Just be connected to the internet and it will
do it for you.
