Hi Rick, yes it can, in fact if I remember right, you can use the Coppermine core chip on that board. I have the BX6 r1, and can't. I am running a PIII 600 as I type, fastest for my board. It is the early 512cache model, but beats the old PII 233 that was in there previously. As to getting a bios update, I don't know where else you can get one other than ABIT. I'm sure another lister will say so if they know of a place. I heard a week or two for repairs to the cable. Brad Loomis Los Angeles, CA Hello all, I have an ABIT 440BX R.2. According to the manual it can only support up to a 500 mhz chip. Can the bios be upgraded to accept faster chips??? If so where can I get them??(I tried ABIT site but it seems a underwater cable has been cut and parts of their site is not available) TIA Rick Torres The NOSPIN Group provides a monthly newsletter with great tips, information and ideas: NOSPIN-L, The NOSPIN Magazine Visit our web site to signup: http://freepctech.com
