I have an AMD K6-2 which caused me a little trouble and heat was suggested as being the problem. I was told to try a program called "Rain", same authors have a similar program called "Waterfall". I installed the software that runs an algorithym that parks CPU processes that are not needed and effectively reduces CPU temp. I was skeptical, but now swear by it and have a number of colleagues who believe this is a good product for reducing freezes, BSOD's etc, often caused by ncreased CPU heat.
