The Monitor is powered separately. This problem happens when I switch off the monitor using the switch on the monitor itself while the power is still on. I have also noticed the same problem with a PII 350, 440BX, LG 17" Monitor combo at my friends place. I have also replicated the problem thr' Win98 & Win98SE. Is it a problem due to the fact that we both have ATX power supplies (unlike the earlier P8+P9 connectors)... If so what do I do ? The best way to operate is always NOT using power supply to pass power to monitor. From the old days, a good technical always turn on monitor first then the computer, when turn off, off the computer first then monitor. (when I bought my monitor, the power core in box was a pass-by cable, I asked the dealer to exchange to a normal cable) Jun Qian Ignatius Nayan D'Rozario wrote: > I have a PII 233 on a Intel 440LX Mobo with a ATX Power Supply.
