Is there any danger in overeating raw meat? Here are a few ideas Burger
seems to have had for a long time, but became clearer since Nicole's
death (GCB's wife seemingly used to eat a lot of RAF).
1) Meat contains a lot of proteins, which may cause auto-immune troubles.
Moreover, other mammals' proteins are too close from our own proteins,
and thus may not be recognized my the immune system.
2) We may be more adapted to eating insects, rather than other mammals.
Indeed, insects are among the most ancient in the evolution, and primates
usually eat other mammals only very occasionally. Eggs are also a good
aliment, since the consumption of eggs by mammals appeared early in the
Evolution. So, maybe the instinct is not well adapted to a heavy consumption
3) Artificially selected, domesticated animals are high in fat, so the
taste change is not clear. We would consume far less raw meat if it
was aged, wild game meat. Domesticated animals should be eaten only
when really attractive, and one should be careful not to go past the
4) Other proteic aliments reduce the need for meat. We should eat meat
only occasionally (something like a few meals in a week, then stop for
three weeks, and so on). The fruit-and-honey lunch reduces protein
intake. Of course, the fact that we do not need a lot of RAF doesn't mean
it is not useful or necessary.
My comments: Not eating too much fruit at lunch, and resisting the temptation
of eating honey regularly is not so easy...
