In the March 14 e-mail edition of the New York Times there is an op/ed by
Roger Morris entitled "A Tyrant 40 Years in the Making."  In it he alleges
that CIA conspired with the Iraqi Baath Party to overthrow Abdel Karim
Kassem in 1963, which they did.  He further alleges CIA then provided  to
the Baath leaders the list of Communist Party members, who were promptly
eliminated by the Baath regime.  The article is at

This is the first I have heard of this.  Anyone have anything to add?
